Chapter 3 has a dual meaning, yet they both focus on helping leaders perform better. First and foremost, working with a good coach is like starting a new Chapter in your life. It signals a new beginning, a chance to evaluate a situation and take positive action in your career and life. Coaching is such a powerful catalyst for growth and improvement. There is no better way to think of our relationship than starting a new Chapter.
On a more personal note, after 20 years as a leader in corporate America and the successful sale of Victor Technologies, where our Founder, Jeff Ertel, sat on the Leadership Team, he explored what was next for him and did a lot of thinking, reading and reflecting.
In that reading, he was exposed to the concept of each person’s life having 4 Chapters:
Chapter 1 – your education and formationChapter 2 – your work and earning years> Chapter 3 – pursuing your passionChapter 4 – your slow down years
While reflecting, his passion around helping others succeed, get better, improve and become great leaders kept appearing in everything he explored. And, upon reviewing what role he liked most in corporate America, it became clear that Executive Coaching was where he got the most satisfaction.
Our Founder, Jeff Ertel, spent 15 years on the Leadership teams of top companies such as Nestle USA and Victor Technologies International. Throughout his career, his roles included Human Resources, Brand Management, Sales and Purchasing. At his last company, Victor Technologies, the Private Equity owner concluded a very successful sale of the company to a competitor.
This sale gave Jeff time to think about what he enjoyed most, where he excelled and what was his passion. Very quickly he realized that Coaching, whether peers on the leadership team, high potential employees, or CEOs, energized him the most.
What ignited that passion? It simply was and is the deep enjoyment he got from helping leaders perform better. Supporting them to learn how others see them, providing insightful feedback and then co-developing ideas and plans on how to improve. The payoff was observing them become more successful.
As a Coach, Jeff takes a collaborative, flexible and pragmatic approach to both the client and the sponsoring organization’s needs. He is able to intuitively determine “what matters” to both, and work with a strong code of ethics and confidentiality for the client. He works with multiple assessment tools, but more importantly has great real world business experience he brings to bear on the situation. Jeff ‘s belief is that we can all become better, and his role is to stretch the candidate for as much improvement as is possible.
We utilize a simple, direct and pragmatic 3-point process of Assessment, Awareness and Action.
The biggest part of the process is listening – listening to the client and listening to all those who provide feedback!
Each coaching assignment is unique, and we work with you to craft the right approach. Each program begins with a free, no obligation meeting with HR and/or the Coachee’s boss. Here are a few of our more popular programs.
